A sustainable alternative to traditional development aid
Serious building activities have just started. The fist stock of materials has been bought and salary for the builders is secured.
The first picture shows Norman holding the World Enironmental day Throphy for the sustainable building iniative, using PET Bottles to build builings to conserve wood and prevent landslides.
Over the next few weeks Norman’s parents will move into their new house just accross the road.
The old house will be renovated and becomes historical part of the of seats2meet Bunabumali, which will be build behind the exsiting building.
The current guesthouse will be turned into the village store. A larger guesthouse will be build to accommodate the growing number of vistiors, both from abroad as well as Ugandan.
The Seats2meet facilities will include a bar, restaurant, meeting rooms, internet access, solar energy information & training center, everything need to stage workshops & events, a mini cinema and training infrastructure.
All current buildings will be upgraded and whitewashed, like the library in the picture.
